Francis Holland School participated in its first Varsity netball tournament at FHS Sloane Square.

It was an afternoon filled with blue, red and lots of cheers. First up was the IIIs, and a hard fight was fought. The girls were chasing and closing the score with each quarter to then succeed in the last quarter levelling the game.

With an almighty cheer coming from NW1 supporters, our IIIs gave us the right start to the varsity tournament. The LIVs were eager to start, winning the toss and the first Centre pass they were ready to go. A strong start for FHS-SW1 saw them take the first quarter with a lead of 6 points. NW1’s shaky start didnĀ’t stop them continuing to play hard and give it all they got but SW1 were strong and won overall. Last up were the UIVs who played with two of their main defenders injured, but the girls showed true team spirit. They were off to a strong start holding the opposition goal for goal with the support of their peers cheering loudly on the sideline. FHS-SW1 came back in the fourth quarter with 5 quick goals securing their win and the trophy in the FHS Varsity Tournament. We would like to congratulate all the girls for their hard work and determination, we are very proud of you.

Thank you to FHS Sloane Square for organising and holding the first FHS Varsity Tournament and a massive congratulations in taking the first FHS Varsity win!
