On Wednesday, excitement was in the air as we loaded up the pupils and made our way to Finsbury Park Athletic Track for one of the most highly anticipated events of the year – Sports Day 2025! Earlier in the week, Mr Gough sent out a request to the weather gods for some good vibes, and they certainly delivered. With clear skies, blazing sunshine, and a midday ice cream treat, the scene was set for a spectacular day.

The morning kicked off with the Lower School (III–UIV) tearing up the track in a flurry of races, while the Senior School (LV & LVI) brought their A-game to the field events – think shotputs flying, high jumps soaring, and lots of competitive energy. After a delicious lunch courtesy of our fantastic catering team, the groups swapped disciplines and the action continued into the afternoon.

In true FHRP fashion, the day wasn’t just about athleticism – it was about heart. Pupils showed incredible perseverance, determination, and an abundance of house spirit, all in pursuit of those all-important house points! From solo victories to full-house support, the energy was electric.

Of course, a day like this doesn’t come together on its own. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who made it happen – PE staff, pupils, parents, and the ‘behind the scenes’ heroes in our incredible facilities, IT, and catering teams. Your effort behind the scenes was just as impressive as what we saw on the track and field.

And finally… huge congratulations to this year’s champions: Saturn! You brought the fire and took home the glory. Until next year – rest those legs and don those house colours with pride!
