Despite the very early start at Heathrow airport, 36 students and 5 staff met in good heart and kept the spirit going all the way through the journey! Sunday was our first day skiing, in snow and fog, but the poor visibility didn’t take away from the excellent snow under ski! Everyone made the most of the excellent instruction given by the Italian Ski school and Snowtraxx’s own team. It was a pleasure to ski with each group in turn and see the visible progress all the students were making, whilst having a whole lot of fun! Après Ski involved excursions to the swimming pool, Ice Skating rink, movie night and, most popular of all, sledging and hot chocolate! The Hotel Splendid provided excellent accommodation and the most delicious food, all with the friendliest service possible. Perhaps the part the students enjoyed most was the take-over of the local pizzeria on Tuesday evening!

All the students received a certificate of achievement at our prize-giving event, alongside some additional gifts for categories such as, best fall on camera, most improved skiers (nominated by the instructors) and a prize each for the most Compassion, Perseverance, Knowledge and Spirit shown by individuals.

Again, the long journey home was a trial, yet it wasn’t able to detract from an excellent week had by all. Thank you to all the students who participated, as their behaviour and spirit were superb throughout.
