UIV had a wonderful day working with Royal Opera House practitioners exploring Puccini’s La Boheme in St Cyprian’s Church. Mimi and Rudolfo were brought to life by amazing opera singers and a director guided the girls through the plot.

The year group was divided into two groups to explore different aspects of La Boheme and these were combined in a wonderful performance at the end of the morning’s workshop.

Girls brought the plot to life by creating imaginative tableau for each Act of the Opera. Original songs created by the girls were heard in a dramatic finale: both songs heard in counterpoint with Mimi’s final aria.

UIV were fantastic: engaged, creative, responding intelligently and with some wonderful singing! Well done to the whole year group!
