On Tuesday 6 May, we welcomed our FHRP community to the Hall for our annual Sports Awards Evening. The event was a fantastic celebration of sporting excellence, recognising our students’ commitment and dedication to sporting life at FHRP. We were also honoured to welcome a very special VIP as our guest speaker, Danielle Brown MBE – double Paralympic gold medallist and five-time World Champion in archery – to talk to our pupils about her incredible sporting career.

Pupils were invited onstage to receive their awards in a host of categories including Sportswoman of the Year, Team of the Year and Sports Personality of the Year, as well as awards recognising outstanding achievement and best progress in a variety of sports.

We were then heard an impressive speech from Danielle who made history as the first athlete to win gold in an able-bodied event at the Commonwealth Games. Now a best-selling author and inspirational speaker, Danielle spoke to our girls about breaking barriers, aiming high, and believing that anything is possible.

We would like to extend our enormous thanks to Danielle for presenting our Sports Awards and inspiring our girls with her incredible success story.

A huge well done also to every single award winner for representing FHRP on the track, field, court, pitch and in the pool throughout the past year with such dedication, commitment and enthusiasm – a true embodiment of our School Values! Finally, thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us to celebrate the girls’ successes, and thank you to the PE Department for a fantastic evening of celebration.
