We were delighted to have alumna Lottie Bridgham talk to our Sixth Formers about the criminalisation of NGO boats in the Central Mediterranean.

Lotte has been working in Search and Rescue, focusing on the migration crisis for about 2 years. She gave some background information on how she got involved with Search and Rescue operations, explaining the legal framework in which they operate. She also opened our eyes to what is happening in the Mediterranean Sea every day and the political context behind the refugee crisis. Finally, Lotte shared some of the experiences she lived through whilst on a mission with Aquarius.

Lotte spoke confidently and passionately and she was a true inspiration to our audience.
