Our new A Level artists ventured to the British seaside town of Hastings to explore ideas and gain inspiration for their project entitled Journeys.

After an early Saturday start at London Bridge, we took the train to the coast and were rewarded with beautiful blue skies and Autumnal sunshine. A sandy beach was revealed at low tide and we had the good fortune to explore the impressive space under the famous Stirling Prize winning Hastings Pier before the tide raced us away. Our FHS artists observed natural textures, dramatic structural shapes and contrasting shapes taking photographs and film footage. A huge thank you to Miss Gardner who organised the day.
