On Tuesday 2nd July, girls in LIV enacted the full range of analytical techniques used by Forensic scientists throughout the day.

Set to an intense musical beat, using fake blood, DNA profiling, fingerprinting, quizzes and lots of competitions, they had to find out who the murderer was, ultimately discovering that ‘James Farlin’ was guilty of the crime.

The winning team was Morse B with the 3rd highest score since the competition began in 2005 but 22 pairs of players got the correct answer at the end.

All the girls agreed that good teamwork is essential, DNA profiling is the most reliable technique, but good, old-fashioned observation has an enormous role to play.
