This week, the FHS Physics Department hosted “We Do Physics,” a symposium for girls studying A Level Physics. This event brought together Lower Sixth pupils from various schools in the area who are taking A Level Physics, to motivate and support each other. Aspiring physicists from four schools, namely St Marylebone, Camden School for Girls, FHS Sloane Square, and FHS Regent’s Park, participated in the event.

During the morning session, the Physics Department at FHS facilitated comprehensive mini-revision lessons and exam-focused problem-solving activities. After a delicious lunch provided by FHS catering, the King’s College London Womxn in Physics (KCL WiP) group conducted an engaging and interactive session in the Hall for the entire cohort. This was followed by an inspiring keynote talk by Professor Claudia de Rham, a distinguished Professor of Theoretical Physics from Imperial College. To conclude, there was a panel discussion led by Physicists visiting from both Imperial and King’s College. We would like to extend our gratitude to the WiP groups at both King’s and Imperial and to Professor de Rham for the insightful discussion and for contributing to this important event. It was a highly rewarding day for everyone involved!
