Counselling

Counselling is central to the Pastoral support available at Francis Holland.

A range of reasons (including difficulties with study/ work commitments, stress, depression, bereavement and coping with friendship or family tensions and change) may prompt our girls to seek counselling, or their carers to recommend it. Our overall aim is to support and promote the wellbeing of the young women in the care of the school.

Who is the Counsellor?

Ms Chiara Vincenti

When and how can girls access support?

Mondays and Thursdays between 8am and 4pm. Other sessions may be available, as required. Appointments may be made by email.Ā If you need to talk to Chiara, she is there to listen and advise, and the content of discussions is confidential.

Who is the Student Wellbeing Practitioner?

Mr Daniel Alves

When and where?

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 8am and 4pm, where the aim is to improve academic achievement and participation in all aspects of student life, by identifying problems and issues that a student may be experiencing and offer practical support. Drop in sessions will also be available.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality operates within the ethical guidelines of the BACP. The position regarding confidentiality will be clarified with the pupil at the beginning of the counselling process. The only occasion when confidentiality can be broken is where a pupil indicates that she or another is at risk. Such breaches are very rare indeed and operate within the Schoolā€™s established Child Protection Policies.
