The History Department took the entire Upper Fourth to visit the First World War battlefields in Belgium and France for three days at the end of term.
We visited a range of fascinating sites including the superb In Flanders Fields museum, a number of Commonwealth and Germany cemeteries, and several battlefields around both Ypres and the Somme. We also attended the Last Past ceremony at the Menin Gate, where three pupils laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
The trip was a great success and special thanks should be given to the Upper Fourth for their enthusiasm, interest, and good behaviour throughout. They were a pleasure to be with!
