The final guest in our Women of Influence series was Jemima Burrill and I felt honoured to have the opportunity to interview her.

Ms Burrill is an artist and curator of the NOW Gallery, which is a stunning, interactive gallery focusing on diversity. She explained to the audience how most people think of an art gallery as being just a plain white hall with paintings hung up, when actually it can be a completely different experience full of colour and interesting sculptures which was an idea she wanted to bring into the making of her own project.

She also spoke openly about being bipolar and struggling with her mental health and how she overcame this challenge and put her energy into her art. I particularly enjoyed hearing about how art can be expressed in any shape or form and her final message to everyone was that producing art takes passion and dedication, and the most important part is choosing something you love.
