“I choose to focus more on the joys in life since losing Nell.”

On Friday 28th January, we welcomed Freya Lewis into school for our 2nd assembly as part of our Women of Influence series. Aged just 14, Freya lost her best friend Nell to the Manchester Arena Bombing in 2017. Since then, she has spoken in schools, been featured in magazines and newspapers, been on podcasts and Good Morning Britain, and released her book What Makes Us Stronger, written to tell her story and teach people the importance of courage and resilience. Our assembly featured an interview style Q&A session with Freya, with Jess and I leading the questions, asking her about her motivations, plans for the future (she’s an aspiring actress!) and her biggest message for others. It was a truly inspiring experience and we really enjoyed listening to her speak!
