The girls had a significant input into the design of Linhope House, and their wishes have been listened to. Rooms will be white with grey carpeting and accents of green; light will flood the building through windows and skylights creating a calm and serene, Scandinavian-style learning environment; natural materials, such as oak, will also feature throughout, and there will be a live green wall of real plants in the common room. Research from the Royal Horticultural Society suggests that indoor plants benefit overall well-being. They have been found to improve mood, reduce stress levels, increase productivity levels and attention spans, and even increase attendance. We look forward to seeing the girls reaping the benefits from this new environment!
