On Monday 26th June, we had an informal summer concert in the Ivor Place Hall.

We were treated to an eclectic range of music. After Synchronicity opened with the upbeat ‘We Are Family’, we were treated to a range of interesting solo and ensemble items.

Suhana & Amara Anderson performed an evocative guitar duo by Xatzidakis,Ā which was followed by sophisticated piano solos including Mariella C ‘s thrilling performance of Rachmaninov’s Prelude in C sharp minor and Eloise’s expressive rendition of the slow movement from Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata.

We were treated to 2 further piano solos:Ā  Fiona J’s musical performance of Tchaikovsky’s June Barcarolle from The Seasons & Camille’s snappy performance of ‘New Kid’ by Christopher Norton.

Helena Mayo showcased her violin technique in a lively performance of Allegro by Tessarini and Sophie S thrilled with her performance of the theme from Star Wars on the flute.

The concert also included 2 contrasting vocal solos:Ā  Natasha P impressing with a performance of Handel’s Lascia ch’io pianga followed by a fantastic performed of Etta James’s ‘At Last’ by Donya B.

The FHS brass department, consisting of trumpet & french horn teachers Ms Harris and Mr Moutoussis, showed how they have been transforming brass at FHS with a fantastic performance by the Junior Brass Group and several girls from 3J.Ā  After just a few group taster lessons, we were impressed by their energetic performance of a lively brass number, supported by other players.

Well done to all for a lovely concert on a summer’s evening!
