On Monday 25th Febrarury, we were extremely grateful to have Matt Jackson come in to talk to our Sixth Formers about the invaluable work the UN does and his role setting up the first UN office in London.

Matt is the UK Director of UNFPA – the United Nation’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency. He explained what the agency is trying to do at international level- delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every child birth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled- and clarified what the main three goals are: end unmet need for family planning, preventable maternal deaths, and violence and harmful practices against women & girls. Particularly interesting is also the work they are doing to empower women across the globe and promote human rights.

Very many thanks to Matt for delivering a very informative and thought-provoking lecture, engaging students with questions and welcoming their comments and questions.
