On Tuesday 2nd April, some of Francis Holland’s finest junior scientists, in the Third and Lower Fourth forms, competed in the Salters Chemistry Competition at the London Metropolitan University.? ?

The day was action packed with hands-on experiments and demonstrations. The girls were in their element as they worked with ease in a giant research laboratory: cracking codes, performing complex chromatography and investigating test tube reactions.? ?

A brilliantly written lab report and very neat workstation ensured that the young chemists did the school proud. They ended the day doubly victorious by achieving both gold and silver medals. ?
