It’s been a busy week for Oxbridge preparation across three year groups. On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of welcoming pupils from St Marylebone School, King Solomon Academy, and a group of our own Upper Fifth pupils to our ‘Aspiring to Oxbridge’ day. The day began with an excellent talk led by Alicia Luba, Director of Oxbridge Applications, who introduced the Oxbridge application process and what the universities are looking for in their prospective applicants. The afternoon sessions focused on super curricular activities and critical thinking. It was an enriching and thought-provoking day.

On Wednesday, Mr Anderson and I took 22 Lower Fifth pupils to Oxford University for its Open Day. It was a fun and sunny day visiting different academic departments and colleges. Pupils attended taster lectures on topics such as US imperialism in the 19thĀ century and they spoke with many undergraduates about student life at Oxford university. A highlight for ourĀ Lower Fifth was the free ice cream and college tote bags on offer; thank you to Merton College!

On Thursday, a selection of our Lower Sixth pupils took part in an academically rigorous day of assessment practice for their pre-interview admissions tests. It was an intense and challenging experience and offered excellent preparation for next term.

We will continue introducing and preparing our pupils for Oxbridge next term!
