How television can change our view of the world.

Natalie is Head of Talent at Nutopia, an independent television production company. She is responsible for bringing new creatives to the company. She showed some clips from recent productions, to illustrate the power of television to inform us and give us new perspectives on the world. She explained about different kinds of programmes and the various roles of the people who collaborate in a production. A Researcher will find out the facts, talk to the experts in the field; the Director decides what the film should look like, while the Production Manager works out a schedule within the budget .

The Sixth Form very much enjoyed seeing the clips and hearing from Natalie and her researcher colleague, Jenny, about their work. This was a very engaging talk, giving fascinating insights into the world of film-making , thank you!
