At the start of the joint A level English seminar at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square on Wednesday, there was some amusement as girls from NW1 and SW1 acknowledged that they were both meeting up with those they considered to be from the OTHER Francis Holland.
In fact, such differences quickly melted away as UVI girls from both schools worked together identifying shared themes, constructing essay plans and swapping ideas about context and critical viewpoints on Chaucer’s The Merchant’s Prologue and Tale and Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi. This was a friendly and constructive collaboration over tea and cookies, as well as an excellent opportunity for revision.
