On Wednesday 8th February, 2023 FHS Regent’s Park performed their annual Inter-House Drama Finals in front of KS3 (Year 7, 8 and 9).

Before the Christmas holidays, all of the girls in KS3 were set different categories to create their own short play using creativity and team work. We then performed the plays in front of our wonderful drama teachers, Mrs Simmons and Miss Trump. It was a very hard decision but they had to select various plays to progress into the final and perform in front of KS3.

The day finally arrived, and all of the finalists had worked so hard. Performing a short play in front of the school can be an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience. The actors took their places on stage, ready to bring their stories to life. As the plays began, the actors may have felt a rush of adrenaline as they become immersed in their characters. They may also feel a sense of accomplishment as they delivered their lines with confidence and conviction. As the audience responds to their performance with laughter and applause, the actors feel a surge of joy and satisfaction. The audience and judges were immediately drawn into the stories as the actors delivered their lines with passion and emotion. The set designs helped to create a vivid atmosphere, while the costumes and props helped to bring each character to life. The music and sound effects added another layer of depth to the performances, creating a truly immersive experience. The audience and judges were captivated by every twist and turn in the plot, eagerly awaiting what will happen next.

At the end of the performances, there was a feeling of satisfaction as everyone applauded for a job well done. The actors took their bows with pride, knowing that they had put on an amazing show that touched everyone in attendance. Watching all the performances was an unforgettable experience that will stay with us long after itā€™s over. When all is said and done, we actors felt relieved that it was over but also proud that we were able to put on such an entertaining show for our peers. We were grateful for having had this opportunity to express ourselves creatively and share something meaningful with others.

On Wednesday, the Thirds to Upper Fourth gathered in the Hall during to watch and take part in the Inter-House Drama Finals. Groups from every House in each class from Thirds to Upper Fourth have spent the last half term writing and producing their plays in preparation for the finals (if they got through that is!). Seven groups got through to the finals but there could only be one overall winner, which was Harry Potter performed by the Lower Fourth! Special mentions go to a group of Lower Fourth who performed their play based off Matilda the Musical during the judgeā€™s deliberation.
