This week saw FHS celebrate Diversity Week, with this year’s theme: ‘This is me’, in an unprecedented way.

Monday was certainly memorable, as we commemorated the many different cultures and identities of our students by implementing a mufti day where girls dressed up as something which they felt represented them. The fashion show at lunch, organised by the Lower Fifth, was extremely entertaining and I felt honoured to have witnessed such a huge celebration of different nationalities and identities. This was followed by an assembly delivered by myself, alongside the diversity team, and was an opportunity to appreciate and explore the different types of diversity which can be found in our classrooms whilst also recognising the progression of LGBTQ+ rights (as well as the growing inclusivity of Barbie dolls!).

Throughout the week, there has been an overwhelmingly high level of support when celebrating our differences, and the atmosphere has been welcoming, reflecting the true nature of our wonderful FHS community.
