On the first day of the Athens trip, we went to the agora (market place) and the acropolis with a guide. Then followed by a visit to the Parthenon Museum, where we could see the friezes and sculptures up close. It was interesting to see the magnitude and impressiveness of the temples that we have learned about at school in real life, and so lovely to be in a hot country knowing it was raining in London.

The next day, we took the coach to Delphi. There was a gorgeous view from the hill. This was my favourite site because of the stadium at the top. We also went to the theatre at Epidaurus where you could hear people talking quietly on stage right from the top of the auditorium. On the final day, we went to Mycenae where the mythical king Agamemnon was meant to have lived. It had been built earlier than the other sites we had been to and rumoured to have been built by Cyclopes, due to the massive size of the stones on its walls. We went back home the next day, and while the plane delays sucked, you could watch loads of Netflix.
