We began our Charity drive for Christmas by running a competition for our Christmas Card covers! After lots of stunning entries, five were chosen and have consequently been used on our school cards. Well done to the winners and all the girls who entered. All proceeds will be going to three charities (Secondary1st, Reverse Rett and centrepoint) chosen by the girls.

The Parentsā€™ Association has been running an ā€œ8 Days of Christmasā€ initiative over the last two weeks of term. One day last week, all girls were invited to bring in a toy to give to a child who is less fortunate. We were astonished and delighted at the response. On another day, every girl wrote a Christmas card to be sent to an elderly person living alone via Age Concern UK.

So far (and we are still counting!) we have raised a total of Ā£4,123.32 this term for our nine charities. The Christmas cards have raised Ā£245 (we are still selling them via the school office), Ā£408 from candy cane sales, Ā£400 from the staff raffle and our Christmas Jumper Day raised Ā£708. We have also donated food to two food banks – North London Action for Homeless and Paddington.

As well as these acts of kindness and generosity, the girls were also treated to doughnuts in their last week, alongside a Young Enterprise afternoon, mufti day, Christmas lunch and a fabulous raffle (which has now been pushed back to the occasion of the School Birthday in February). The Headmaster, staff and pupils are grateful to the Parentsā€™ Association for all of their efforts ā€“ they have brought additional joy to the school this month.

Thank you to our entire school community for all your help and participation to raise monies for our charities and partnerships.
