On Tuesday 15th October, four pupils took the train to Covent Garden station to look around Grain house, an island of buildings that have been sold for redevelopment.

Sixth Form student, Bella Atfield told us about the trip:

“A representative from Savills’ Investment Management explained to us that this site (almost half an acre) had been her first buy 20 years ago and would now be sold and completely refurbished. She explained to us that the London commercial market for office buildings had not been considerably affected by recent changes in value of the pound, as no matter what happens, the regulations and security put in place for buyers always encourages foreign investors to feel confident about buying in London. As she toured us around the building she revealed that it had been leased out to King’s College as a satellite facility. By the end of the tour, we were all so surprised by what investment management actually entails and we all really enjoyed the trip.”
