It is pleasing to see that the ISI inspectors recognised the strong educational provision at Francis Holland Regent’s Park, identifying the school’s “harmonious and respectful community in which pupils feel that their voices are heard, and their identities are respected.” The report also highlights that:
- “The curriculum provides pupils with the opportunity for leadership in the school and wider community, to develop their academic and personal knowledge.”
- “Pupils develop advanced critical and intellectual approaches to academic work.”
- “Teachers encourage pupils to explore and debate topics beyond the plan of the lesson and challenge them to refine their arguments.”
- “Pupils develop an appropriate balance of emotional, intellectual, social and creative skills.”
- “Leaders emphasise to pupils their responsibility to serve others and articulate the school’s cornerstone value of compassion.”

*The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has a new inspection framework, and this means that both the process of inspections as well as the wording and language style of the report have changed significantly from ISI inspections carried out before Summer 2023. Schools no longer receive overall judgements such as ‘excellent’; instead, the inspectors report on whether a school meets expected ISI standards in five key areas.
