Happy World Book Day!

Or to be precise, happy World Book and Copyright Day.

This year celebrations are taking place online. The Sixth Form have put together a video about their favourite books from Lower School, which will be shown in English lessons to inspire our younger readers and spark debate amongst the older years. Will they agree with the Sixth formers’ choices? Would they prefer to readĀ RooftoppersĀ orĀ Noughts & Crosses? And what aboutĀ The Hunger Games?

In this week’sĀ Nearly Polished CornersĀ the English teachers will reveal the books that have made them: from the book that they would gift to the last book that made them laugh, and everything inbetween.

And students should look out for the Ā£1 book voucher that will be coming their way. This year’s Ā£1 books include titles from the very popular Holly Jackson, author ofĀ A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and the hilarious Derek Landy (Skulduggery Pleasant).Ā
