Yesterday morning, 16 Year 8 and Year 9 students attended a maths competition against Francis Holland Sloane Square at their school.

The morning began with a team competition of groups of 4 (consisting of two Year 8s and two Year 9s) who were given 4 difficult questions to answer within 20 minutes. Then the next activity consisted of 4 head to head questions to be answered which all relied on the previous answers given to you by your partner. Therefore if you got one question wrong you got all of them wrong! We did the head to head questions for 10 minutes and for 3 rounds and then finally it was break time! We were given cookies and juices and got to go and spend time in the playground. After returning we began our last activity which was the relay, including 20 questions. When you finished your question you had to collect the next question and give this to your partner.

Overall, our school came first by four points and it was a very fun experience! Well done to Grace and Isa who were mentioned by Sixth Formers for good maths skills! Thank you to Sloane Square for a fun competitive maths challenge!
