Our Headmistress, Katharine Woodcock, is delighted to be taking part in this year’s Strictly Headers School Football Tournament in support of Play it Forward, who aim to achieve sustainable social change by supporting young people from Zambia on and off the pitch.

Hosted by More House School, Strictly Headers sees female Heads and senior leaders from schools around London go head-to-head in a celebration of women’s football. This will culminate in a tournament for students on Friday 5th May and a finals tournament for winning teams and Heads on Friday 19th May. We would love to see our FHS community come along to support our budding footballers – please use this link to book tickets!

In school, we will also be having a mufti day to fundraise for Play it Forward on Wednesday 26th April with the opportunity for girls to wear their own clothes (sporting gear encouraged!) and participate in a football quiz at lunch. Please use this link to pledge your support.

With training in full swing, Mrs Woodcock commented, “I couldn’t be more excited to swap the school corridors for the football pitch as I prepare to take part in Strictly Headers 2023. It’s an honour to support the invaluable work of Play it Forward in helping more young people in Southern Zambia access opportunities through education and health activities.”

Football goes from strength to strength at FHS, and we have recently appointed new football coaches from Chelsea F.C. and introduced morning U12 and U13 football clubs. We can’t wait to see Mrs Woodcock join this growing community of FHS football fans by taking on a new challenge and supporting such a worthy cause. Thanks in advance for your support!
