Our annual Sing & Swing Jazz Concert is always a highlight of our Spring Term calendar, but this year was a particularly special occasion as it was joint with Harrow School, with whom we treasure a long-held musical partnership. And what a night of musical magic it was!

With beautifully decorated round tables dotted around St Cyprian’s Church, dramatic mood lighting and performers weaving between tables amongst our guests, the atmosphere was truly that of a jazz club and the concert was a fully immersive experience that had the audience enthralled from start to finish.

Highlights included our Lower School Vocal Group’s performance of Fever, FHS Wind Sinfonia & Harrow School Big Band’s The Pink Panther, a number of solos and duets of breath-taking standard and the grand finale, Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York performed by Harrow School Big Band and all of our FHS musicians.

As our wonderful Sixth Form comperes noted, the evening could not epitomise more FHS’s four loadstar nouns; Knowledge, Compassion, Perseverance and Spirit. Congratulations to all our amazing performers and thank you so much to Harrow for joining us. We’re already looking forward to our next joint concert, at Harrow in March, which this year for the first time will also feature musicians from our sister school, FHS Sloane Square.

A complete sell-out, what a fantastic way to round off this Half Term and thank you so much to our incredible Music Department!
