This early May Bank Holiday, 40 students from the LVth and UVth headed out to Essex for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Practice Expedition. This was very exciting, as it has been a couple of years since a full expedition has been able to run. We met at the campsite where the students packed their rucksacks for the weekend. The weather was glorious (which can’t always be said!) and each group enjoyed walking through the beautiful countryside. They developed their camping and map reading skills, and definitely persevered through the blisters and tired legs to reach the finish line, Chelmsford train station. Each group should be proud of their achievements and I hope they are looking forward to the assessed expedition in Chesham at the beginning of the Summer Holidays.
