Last Saturday, Francis Holland took part in the Regional Finals of the Cross Country Cup in Hertfordshire. Having already progressed through the London Heats, the best schools from across the region descended on St Albans and the level of competition was exceptionally high.

Francis Holland had three teams representing the school, in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior age groups, which was in itself an incredible achievement. However, our girls were not content with just showing up. All three teams were absolutely exceptional, with the Juniors securing 2nd place, Ā whilst the Inters and Seniors both finished 3rd overall. Podium places therefore for all our teams and I am delighted to announce that all three teams have qualified for the National Finals, which will be held in Suffolk in December!

The National Finals see the top 24 schools in the country compete across the various age groups to be declared National Cross Country Champions, and we are over the moon to be in the race.

Francis Holland is one of the only schools (potentially the only school!) to have all three teams qualify, illustrating the strength of our cross country running at Francis Holland. We have an incredible crop of girls across our age groups who have trained so hard for this opportunity and we are so exceptionally proud of each and every one of them.

From everyone at Francis Holland we wish the girls the very best of luck in December.
