11 of our UIV (Year 9) Architects went to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Headquarters on Thursday for their fifth workshop in collaboration with St Marylebone School and RIBA. This scheme is part of our wider Scholars’ Programme.
During the workshop, the students collaborated in teams with pupils from St. Marylebone School at RIBA Headquarters, using architectural materials to construct impressively detailed model buildings, which will form part of their pitch to Make Architects next month, in what will be the culmination of several sessions with RIBA over the last year. The brief for this final project is to design a building which could feature as the central hub of a hypothetical community space in Regent’s Park, with an emphasis on how the building’s design reflects its purpose, function and the demographic of its intended users.
This very exciting project comes to a close in the next half term where our pupils will present their projects to the RIBA Architects. It has been a very enriching experience so far and we are proud of the work that our UIV students have achieved and the high standards that they have conducted themselves by!
