On Friday 11th March, we had a wonderful introduction to British Science Week with a talk from Dr Carrie MacTavish in assembly.
British Science week runs from Friday 11th to Sunday 20th March, and we will be holding quizzes, taking a trip to the Big Bang Science Fair in Birmingham, racing Hovercraft in the hall and listening to what will undoubtedly be a fascinating talk from Chloe Tartan, who is currently completing her PhD on Photonics at the University of Oxford.
This morning, Dr Carrie MacTavish gave an inspirational talk about her research career, which has included work at the University of Cambridge as well as meeting penguins as part of space exploration missions in the Antarctic!
