Our Lower and Upper Sixth Art Historians explored two wonderful local exhibits this week.

The Lower Sixth visited the Cast Courts at the V&A, which were opened in 1873 and are famous for including reproductions of Michelangelo’s David, Trajan’s Column, and Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise, amongst many others.

The Upper Sixth had a more modern experience at the Warhol Unseen exhibition at the Halcyon Gallery, where they discovered a rare collection of silkscreen graphics by Andy Warhol, spanning three decades of the artist’s career.

Both trips were thoroughly enjoyed by all and will be immensely useful for the girls’ A Level studies and broader contextual knowledge.
