PASTORAL & WELLBEING
When you feel safe and supported, there’s no limit to what you can achieve. The wellbeing and happiness of every pupil is at our heart. This is especially true for you during Sixth Form.
NURTURING AND NOURISHING
It’s a complex world today and the last two years of school are a crucial stage. Our Sixth Form Pastoral Team is here to help you to thrive and to succeed in higher education and beyond.
A strong, experienced team of Form Tutors is led by a Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form. You have full access to our counselling provision and daily check ins with your Form Tutor.
Our Sixth Form PSHE programme will prepare you for the here and now as well as life beyond Francis Holland Regent’s Park, while a dedicated Higher Education Team can help with study applications in the UK and abroad.
You’ll have a mature, respectful relationship with staff, and be encouraged to speak openly and honestly and help shape school life through active dialogue and collaboration. Having a pupil voice is central to our ethos, with Sixth Formers acting as leaders within the school.
Linhope House, our separate Sixth Form Centre, is an inspiring place for independent study, reflection and space. You’re entrusted to use your mobile phone and laptop responsibly, balancing online engagement with academic demands, leadership roles and co-curricular activities.
COUNSELLING
Sixth Form can be a time of significant academic pressure and personal growth.
You can book confidential one-to-one appointments or attend drop-in sessions with our three counsellors available throughout the week. They can help with a wide range of concerns, from study pressures and stress to mental health challenges, such as anxiety or depression, as well as personal issues including bereavement, friendship difficulties and family changes. No concern is ever too small.
During particularly demanding periods, such as exam seasons or university application times, we offer additional pastoral and wellbeing support.
FOOD
The Sixth Form Centre has its own dining facilities, with hot and cold food choices and a breakfast bar for busy students on the go in the morning. A coffee machine, fruit, toast and snacks are available throughout the day.
You’re free to go out at lunchtime, of course, but most people eat in – the food is fantastic, and the dining area is simply a great place to be!
