At Francis Holland Regent’s Park, we promote a lifelong enjoyment of sport and physical activity, offering a wide range of opportunities for all pupils—whether for fitness, fun or competition at the highest level. We aim to provide a sports for all programme, alongside supporting our more elite athletes.

FACILITIES & LOCATIONS

Despite our central London location, sport is an integral part of school life. On-site, pupils benefit from a swimming pool, a well-equipped sports hall and playground.

Outdoor sports take place in Regent’s Park, with access to extensive grass pitches, all-weather courts and netball and tennis facilities. Athletics and hockey sessions are held at Paddington Recreation Ground, with transport provided. We also use Church Street Sports Hall for netball and the Westway Centre for rock climbing. Our annual Sports Day is hosted at Finsbury Park Athletics Track.

PERFORMANCE & COMPETITION

Pupils representing school teams train weekly and compete in fixtures and tournaments across London.

We field competitive squads in Athletics, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Swimming and Tennis, with strong commitment expected from team members. Each year, pupils participate in high-profile competitions such as the England Schools Cross Country and Hockey Tournaments.

We are proud to offer international sports tours. In recent years, these have included swim tours to Malta and Tenerife as well as hockey and netball in South Africa.

CO-CURRICULAR SPORT

Our extensive co-curricular programme runs before school, at lunchtime and after school, offering something for every interest and ability.

Activities range from Dance, Boxing and Yoga to Volleyball and Street Dance. House competitions in netball, football and hockey ensure everyone can get involved. Highlights include the Gym and Dance Display in the Spring Term, showcasing talent across disciplines.

Whether pursuing sport competitively or recreationally, every pupil is encouraged to stay active, healthy and confident.
