ARTS & CREATIVITY

Creativity is at the heart of life at Francis Holland Regent’s Park. Our dynamic Drama, Music and Art departments offer all pupils the opportunity to develop their talents, think independently and express themselves with confidence.

ART

We see Art as vital to the creative and personal development of our pupils, both in the classroom and by offering clubs such as Photography and Comic Books.

Our bright, well-equipped studios feature printing presses, Macs, sewing machines and much more. Our teachers are practising artists and designers who inspire pupils to think critically, work independently and create with ambition. Our annual Art Exhibition showcases the work of our pupils, and a number of our pupils will go on to leading art schools after their A Levels.

DRAMA

Drama is taught to all pupils in the Lower School and is offered at both GCSE and A Level.

Pupils can take Speech and Drama lessons with a specialist teacher and take part in a rich programme of performances, including the annual school production, a junior play, and the Inter-House Drama Competition. Our Helen McCrory Drama Studio provides a professional space for rehearsal and performance. There are also co-curricular opportunities to engage with Drama with Drama Club and Tech Club, enabling pupils to learn skills to assist with lighting and sound. Being in central London afford us opportunities to offer regular theatre trips to our pupils.

MUSIC

Music at FHRP is vibrant and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on creativity and performance. Our Music Department features six soundproof practice rooms and two large teaching spaces.

There are 15 ensembles and at least six concerts a year at Francis Holland Regent’s Park, including collaborations with Harrow School, with a joint Jazz and Swing evening as well as a joint choral event. We have several partnerships with the Royal Academy of Music and hold regular workshops with professional performers. There are numerous trips to concerts, theatres and venues across London which deepen our pupils’ musical experience.
