Six of our Lower Sixth (Year 12) students took to the famous red spot for an evening of powerful and thought-provoking TEDx talks, demonstrating the confidence, creativity and clarity of thought that define our school community.
At our school, we believe that oracy, communication and presentation skills are vital tools for life. Opportunities like TEDx give our students the chance not only to share ideas, but also to develop the confidence to speak with authenticity and purpose.
TEDx is about far more than delivering a presentation; it asks speakers to explore meaningful ideas and communicate them in a compelling way. Our students rose to that challenge with remarkable poise. Their talks were insightful, original and beautifully delivered, tackling complex themes with maturity and emotional intelligence.
The atmosphere in the room was truly special. Staff, families and peers watched and listened with admiration as these young women shared their perspectives on the stimulus ‘Imagine’ with confidence and conviction. It was an evening that left us all feeling deeply proud.
Experiences like this are more than a showcase of talent; they are the stepping stones that encourage young people to find and use their voices. We are incredibly proud of every student who boldly stepped onto the TEDx stage and grateful to everyone who supported such an inspiring evening – notably our fantastic Head of Drama and Oracy, Miss Trump and our wonderful AV technician, Mr Zilinskas.
