At the beginning of the summer break a group of Lower and Upper Fifth students travelled to Palermo on a school trip accompanied by Mr Gridelli and Miss Lamas.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed their language lessons in the morning and they were enthusiastic to put what they had learnt to good use afterwards. Not only were the girls able to practise their Italian conversation skills, they were also able to appreciate the local culture, gastronomy and the seaside.
The group were captivated by the breath-taking architecture of Palazzo Reale and Cappella Palatina, they fearlessly threw themselves into the procession at Saint Rosalie Festival, the cityĀs patron saint, and they loved the excursion to CefalĆŗ by train and to Mondello where they were able to relax on paradise-like beaches and swim in crystal clear water. And as the Italians say Āone ice cream a day keeps the doctor awayĀ and certainly helped with the heat. A truly fantastic Italian experience!
