On Saturday 5th March 2022, we were pleased to host our 3rd Italian Teachers Day here at FHS.

Katia Pizzi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, welcomed everyone then the day started with a fascinating talk on ‘Italian Sport and Italian History- stories from cycling and football’ by Professor John Foot, followed by ‘Italy between Eurovision and social media- teaching Italian music and society via YouTube’ by Dr Cecilia Brioni, a round table on the A Level sub-theme ‘Dalla Dittatura alla Democrazia’ led by Professor Giuliana Pieri, Dr. David Brown and Dr Guido Bartolini; and many other talks and presentations.

It was lovely to see so many Italian teachers (approximately 100!) and a special thank you goes to Peter Langdale and Nick Gridelli for organising such an interesting and informative conference.
