The National Cyber Security Centre and IBM organised for all Year 8 girls across the UK to take park in CyberFirst, which took place at the end of last term. Over 10 days, 32 Year 8 pupils answered as many of the cyber challenges within their teams of up to 4 pupils. The highest scoring team in each region and home nation of the UK will win laptops and will be invited to a celebratory event early next year.
We are incredibly proud of all 32 pupils for taking part in the CyberFirst competition organised by the National Cyber Security Centre. Their participation is not only a testament to their talent and determination but also a vital step toward closing the gender gap in technology. Through this experience, they have developed critical skills in problem-solving, cybersecurity, and teamwork – skills that are essential in today’s digital world. Initiatives like CyberFirst play a crucial role in making computer science more inclusive and equitable, empowering young women to see themselves as future leaders in tech.
