Celebrating our new Library with the community that made it possible

This week, we were thrilled to host a special evening in our newly renovated Library to thank our generous supporters who helped make this transformational project a reality.

Together, our community raised over £100,000, enabling us to reimagine the Library as a modern, flexible, and inspiring space for learning, collaboration, and reading.

Guests had the opportunity to explore the new space for themselves, from the adaptable study areas to the room at the far end of the Library, now a vibrant and flexible area which can be used for pupil forums, leadership meetings, and group projects. It was a joy to see guests experience first-hand how their support has created a space that blends tradition with innovation, and that will foster scholarship and curiosity for years to come.

Head, Katharine Woodcock, shared her heartfelt thanks to all who supported the campaign, saying: ‘For generations of pupils over the last 147 years, the Library has been a sanctuary: a place to read widely, to research deeply, and to develop a lifelong love of learning. The transformation of this wonderful space would not have been possible without the generous support of our school community.’

The event closed with a toast to the future – a celebration of what can be achieved when a community comes together with shared purpose and belief in the transformative power of education.
