The day began with our Ash Wednesday service where the whole school gathered to mark the start of the season of Lent.
The presiding clergy were Rev Jennifer Locke (ex Head of RS) and Father Michael Fuller Priest in charge of St Cyprians. We were reminded that by receiving the Ashing we acknowledged that we were sorry for the wrong things we did and that we fall short of what God wants us to be. Lent is a time to” turn around”, to become more Christ like and the aim of giving something up like crisps ! was as a reminder of the need to develop self discipline and our commitment to change.
